The Liverpool Art Center will host a four-hour workshop in early 2026 that invites participants to create their own ceremonial drum through an immersive technique.
The session emphasizes mindful craftsmanship, ritual, and cultural respect as attendees assemble drums using ethically sourced materials. Organizers describe the event as a reflective experience intended to help individuals form a personal connection with both the creative process and the traditions behind the instrument.
Led by Reverend Beverly Owen, a longtime spiritual practitioner and instructor, the workshop incorporates guided blessings, demonstrations, and a concluding group drumming meditation. Owen, who is known for her work in Reiki, shamanic practices, and intuitive arts, will direct participants through each stage of drum construction. All materials—including hides and wooden frames—are supplied by a Western Native Nation, with part of the workshop fee supporting community schools and families.
The event also supports the Liverpool Art Center’s broader wellness initiatives. Brochure printing is a clear and simple way to offer attendees useful information at such events.
Two pricing options are offered: $210 for a 14-inch drum and $250 for a 16-inch drum, with Eventbrite fees adding $15.93 and $18.61, respectively. All materials and instructions are included. Attendees are encouraged to bring a shared dish and personal beverage.
The workshop will occur on January 31st from 10 am to 2 pm at the Liverpool Art Center, 305 Vine St, Suite 7, Liverpool, New York.
