Art venue hosts pet portrait painting class

Liverpool Art Center (LAC), operated by Artistic Innovations LLC, will present a hands-on workshop inviting participants to turn photographs of their animals into painted portraits.

The two-hour session is part of the center’s ongoing classes and event series and is structured for beginners.

Instructors will guide attendees through transferring a pet’s image onto canvas, blending colors, and applying paint to capture distinct features. Demonstrations will focus on brushwork techniques used to depict textures such as scales, fur, and feathers.

Organizers recommend selecting a clear reference photo with strong lighting and minimal background detail to achieve the best results. All materials are included in the registration cost, and participants are required only to bring a printed image of their chosen animal.

The program is open to adults and minors accompanied by a legal guardian or parent. Doors open 10 minutes before the start time. The event is conducted in person, and refunds are not available. As with many community art programs like this one, organizers often turn to poster printing to publicize upcoming workshops.

Pricing varies by registration type. Admission for LAC members is $33.85, which includes a $3.85 fee. General admission is $49.87, including a $4.87 fee. A discounted package for two seats is listed at $81.88, including a $6.88 fee. Ticket sales end April 11.

The workshop will take place on Tuesday, April 14, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Liverpool Art Center, 305 Vine St, Suite 7, Village Mall, Liverpool.
