Liverpool has two clean-up events lined up to celebrate Earth Day this year.
The Onondaga Lake Conservation Corps invites volunteers to clean up debris along the lake’s shoreline as its second annual Earth Day project. The clean-up groups will begin at Willow Bay Park, 3858 Long Branch Road. Staff from Montezuma Audubon Center will be discussing wildlife, birds and healthy habitats thriving in the Onondaga Lake watershed during the project.
A pair of two-hour slots (one from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, and the other from 10:00 am until noon) are available and registration will be limited to 25 participants for each session. The clean-up session will be Saturday, April 24.
Also, Onondaga County, OCRRA, and the Bayberry Community Association will be presenting their 18th annual Bayberry Earth Day Litter Clean-up.
Local families, residents, high school students, and scout troops are invited to help pick up litter in the Bayberry green areas, sections of the John Glen Blvd, Route 57 from Maryland Lane to John Glenn, and the front and back entrance area. OCRRA stickers and plastic Bags will be provided.
Volunteer organizations involved in this type of service often arrange poster printing beforehand to get the information out to the public.
Volunteers will meet Rain or Shine in the Bayberry Plaza Parking Lot, 7608 Oswego Road Saturday, April 24 at 9:00 am. The event will go until noon.
