Runners get set to race for health

Liverpool locals still have a few weeks to sign up for ‘The Good Samaritan Run’.

The chip-timed 5K course starts and ends at Long Branch Park. For kids aged 5 to 12, there will be a Samaritan Sprint, which is a one-loop race before the 5K. There will also be a Buddy Wheelchair Racers division for participants with disabilities and their teammates.

After running, participants can head on over to the post-race party where there will be an awards ceremony, music, vendors, and refreshments.

The Christian Health Service of Syracuse is hosting the event. Proceeds from the race will go to help those in the local area have access to affordable healthcare. To spread the word about the event, it is likely printing companies were asked to make Flyers and other promotional materials.

Registration costs $30 per person and $35 for each team in the buddy run. The sprint costs $15. Those who register before March 26 will be guaranteed a long-sleeved shirt. Kids can participate in the 5K for free alongside a registered adult.

Pre-race packet pickup will take place on April 10 from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm at Fleet Feet Sports, located on 5800 Bridge Street.

The Good Samaritan 5K takes place on April 11 at 10:00 am, while the kids’ sprint will begin at 9:30 am. Long Branch Park is located on 395 Long Branch Road.
