Liverpool runners will be digging out their holiday ugly sweaters and signing up for the 9th Annual Syracuse Ugly Sweater 5k coming toward the end of November.
This transition into the Christmas holidays is the 9th leg of the Dick’s Sporting Goods Family Fit Series. The course will take runners through The Light on the Lake, and swag will include finisher medals, jingle bell bracelets, and custom green Team Grinch or red Team Santa long-sleeve shirts each featuring either a Grinch or Santa graphic design.
Awards will go to Age Group winners and to the Overall male and female finishers. Prizes will also be awarded to the funniest, most creative, and best ugly sweaters.
Some of the proceeds will be given to the St. Johns Community Services. Attendees are also asked to bring winter clothes such as boots, coats, mittens, socks, hats, and toiletries to a truck that will be onsite.
Registration for either the in-person or virtual runner is $42.50, and entrants sign up for the team they want to represent. Prices will go up on October 31st.
Packets will be available from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm Wednesday, November 22nd at Cobblestone, 400 1st Street in Liverpool and Race Day from 9:00 to 10:45 am at the Salt Museum, 106 Lake Drive.
The Syracuse Ugly Sweater 5k will take place Saturday, November 25th at 106 Lake Drive with the race starting at 11:00 pm.
