Residents run and walk for cancer

Liverpool locals recently stepped out for a good cause during a ZERO Prostate Cancer event.

The run and walk featured a 5K and a one-mile course. In addition, kids could participate in a Superhero Dash, where children were able to dress up like a superhero for a short race. The event was set up to provide funds to help raise awareness, along with provide treatment and testing for those faced with prostate cancer.

An awards ceremony was scheduled to be held after all races, with refreshments, a picnic, and fun activities for the kids.

Registration for the 5K was $25, while it was $20 for the mile walk and $15 for the Superhero dash. Registration included a t-shirt for the 5K and one-mile, and a superhero cape for the kids’ dash. Those who wanted to help but were not able to attend could pay $30 for the ‘Snooze for Dudes’ option.

Packet pickup took place on June 26th from 3:00pm until 7:00pm at Fleet Feet Syracuse, located on 5800 Bridge Street. No doubt Stationery printers put together the packets for the event.

The event was set to start bright and early on June 27th, beginning with registration at 7:15am. The 5K was scheduled for 9:00am, followed by the mile walk at 9:10am, and the Kids’ Superhero Dash at 9:45am. It was hoped that many Liverpool locals had fun on the day, all while raising cash for the charity.
