Locals in and around Liverpool can enjoy an Italian-themed festival in a couple of weeks.
The ‘Festa Italiana’ is three days of family friendly activities, food, and live entertainment. The festival will begin with an opening ceremony. Attendees can play Italian Bingo or learn how to play Briscola, an Italian card game. Meanwhile, teams will come from all over the state to compete in a contest in the Italian ball game bocce.
Throughout the weekend, there will be a lineup of performing artists, including Jimmy Cavallo, Maurice LoMonaco, and the Federico School of Music. There will also be dancing performances. In the children’s tent, kids can enjoy music, along with arts and crafts.
More than 25 local restaurants will be selling a variety of food. Vendors will consist of pizzerias, bakeries, and cafes. There will also be a chef’s demo. Flyer printing is one way these establishments can get the word out about the festival.
Amateur bakers who are at least 18 years old can enter the biscotti contest, which is limited to the first 30 entrants, and bakers must sign up by tomorrow, September 9. The winner will receive $100.
The festival takes place September 18 and 19 from 11:00 am until 11:00 pm, and September 20 from noon until 7:00 pm. The event will be held in front of City Hall in Downtown Syracuse where Washington Street and Montgomery Street meet.
