Fans of classical music who live in Liverpool or other parts of the Syracuse, New York area, will want to clear their Calendars this weekend.
The Syracuse Friends of Chamber Music (SFCM) will be hosting the Parker Quartet, a group that has become a powerhouse in the classical music scene since its formation in 2002.
The group has won the highly coveted Cleveland Quartet Award from 2009 through 2011, and also picked up a Grammy in 2011 for Best Chamber Music Performance for a record featuring all of composer György Ligeti's pieces. In the fall of this year, the group will be starting a residency at Harvard University.
The SFCM was created by a violinist named Louis Krasner. He created the organization in 1949 to bring classical music to the Syracuse area. He also wanted to host performances that would bring in world-renowned musicians alongside local Upstate New York artists.
The organizers for this event may reach out to Print companies to help them create programs for the audience members. Programs provide the audience with information about show and can be used as advertising space for the venue to promote any upcoming shows.
