Liverpool locals can soon take the short trip to downtown Syracuse for three days of music, food, and wine.
The 'Northeast Jazz and Wine Festival' will feature live performances on three different stages. Each day has a theme. The event will kick off with Funky Friday, where the funk band Atlas will headline the show. Chieli Minucci and Special EFX is the feature band for Jazz Saturday. On Blues Sunday, Duke Robillard will be one of the highlighted performing artists.
Guests can also hang out at one of two different jazz clubs: the Mardi Gras Pavilion or the World Beat Pavilion. There will also be strolling musicians, wine experts, and jam sessions. On Blues Sunday, attendees can check out the beer garden for brews and barbecued fare.
Other highlights are the Scholastic Festival, where kids can jam with professional artists, and the Battle of the Community Bands.
The festival offers several different wine tasting events at the Red Cross Wine Pavilion. Tickets cost $10 for each event and proceeds will go to the Red Cross.
The event is part of the 'Syracuse Artsweek Festival of Festivals', a yearly event that draws more than 60,000 people. Flyer printing is one method event organizers can use to inform residents and tourists about the festival.
The festival will take place from July 24 through July 26 at Clinton Square. Admission is free.
