New Year to get off to a green start

Environmental organization Greening USA will soon be hosting a panel in Syracuse, New York to discuss how to responsibly invest in or sponsor businesses that are trying to make a difference in the world with alternative energy solutions or green policies.

There will be panelists involved in green companies on hand to explain what they do and how others can help them. Marguerite Wells, who is a member of Black Oak Wind Farm, will talk about alternative energy and how to invest in it. T.C. Pellet, a member of Brand Cool, will be discussing ‘B’ Corps, or companies that are able to meet high standards for environmental and social performance.

Katelyn Kriesel, who is a financial adviser with the Koenig and Selzer Asset Management Group, will be informing guests as to how they can better invest their money to support socially responsible companies. Similarly, SUNY ESF student Erin Carr will be explaining how institutions are getting rid of their fossil fuel assets.

Promoters for this event may want to contact printing companies to help them advertise with Flyers or Postcards that can be distributed in Syracuse and nearby areas like Liverpool.

The panel will take place on Friday, January 9, from 12:00 pm until 1:30 pm at the Syracuse Center of Excellence. It is free for visitors to attend.
