Locals get a taste of the town

Residents in Syracuse, and nearby Liverpool, can eat to their hearts’ content while enjoying music at an upcoming two-day festival.

The 2015 Taste of Syracuse will feature plenty of restaurants and food vendors. From Italian cuisine to donuts, there is a wide variety of things to taste. There will also be a wine garden.

Each day, there will be a full lineup of bands on several different stages. Bret Michaels will be headlining the entertainment. Blues, cover bands, and a tribute to the oldies are some of the highlights.

Exhibitors will have booths and families can check out the fun zone. Vendors can apply to be part of the festival on the Taste of Syracuse website.

Admission is free, but food and drinks cost extra. On the second day of the festival, military members will be given two samples for $1 at ‘Salute the Troops Saturday’. To take advantage of this special deal, military personnel will be given a wristband. There will also be ‘red, white, and blue’ strudels.

With around 180,000 people at last year’s event, this year’s taste is expected to have a large turnout. It is likely a postcard printing service created a direct mailer to inform the community about the event.

The fun takes place at Clinton Square, and nearby areas, on June 5 and 6 from 11:00 am until 11:00 pm. For more information, call 315-471-9597.
