Cupid’s Chase, an annual 5K Run/Walk that benefits Community Options, will be in-person if permitted and also online. The in-person run will take place here in Liverpool in mid-February.
Whether in-person or virtual, all participants will receive finisher medals and event shirts sporting this year’s graphic design. Each age group winner will receive a medal and the top three overall female and male finishers will get trophies.
Both in-person and virtual registration will be $30. Registrants can choose to join a team, start a team, or just sign up individually. Cupid Helpers are encouraged to volunteer if the event is in-person. Registration is open on the event’s website.
Community Options in a non-profit organization with a mission to aid individuals with disabilities. Some services offered in the New York area include housing, individual support, social recreation services, employment placement, and speech, behavioral, physical, and occupational therapy.
Many race participants will be raising money for the Community Options mission by collecting donations from supporters. This year’s goal is $7,000. Donations for specific runners, or just for the cause in general, can also be made on the event’s website.
The Cupid’s Chase Syracuse 5K will take place at Onondaga Lake Park, 106 Lake Drive on Saturday, February 13. Onsite registration will begin at 10:00 am and the in-person race will leave the starting line at 11:00 am.
