Everson Museum will be presenting its 2022 Art of Festival Trees and Lights for 11 days in December.
Family activities will include workshops for making gifts, cornhusk dolls, dreidels, and menorahs. Syracuse University Opera will hold a two-hour workshop for Hansel and Gretel on Wednesday, December 7, and a Workshop Performance of Hansel and Gretel from 3:00 to 5:00 in Hosmer Auditorium on Friday, December 9 in the Hosmer Auditorium.
Each day will feature music and dance ensembles, bands, and choirs from local elementary, middle, junior high and high schools. Liverpool High School Orchestras and Ensembles will perform in the Hosmer Auditorium while the Liverpool High School Tuba Euphonium Ensemble will be in the Sculpture Court starting at 12:30 pm on Friday, December 16.
Santa will be found in the Beadel Gallery from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturdays. Photos of kids and Santa often go to local Stationery printers to be used in making custom Holiday Cards.
From 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, A Kwanzaa Karamu will take place at the Danial Family Education Center on Saturday, December 17th. Storyteller and artist Vanessa Johnson will be telling African animal stories and helping children create Ghana Sandofa birds. At 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm there will be Kwanzaa candle lighting ceremonies.
The 2022 Festival of Trees and Light event will be presented from December 3 through 17 at the Everson Museum of Art, 401 Harrison Street, Syracuse.
