A relaxing and nostalgic afternoon of music from the 1920s to the 1940s is coming to Liverpool Public Library, which will soon be presenting its Origins of Jazz Series; From Ragtime to Swing. The Carolyn Kelly Blues Band will be presenting the live music.
The band consists of vocals by Carolyn Kelly, Doug Egling on saxophone, Jim Pavente on bass, Jerry Neely on piano, Terry Mulhauser on guitar, and Don Sollars on drums.
Kelly has release three albums, all studio recordings. One is entitled ‘Keep All My Secrets’ and was released in 2007, and she has also released ‘Slow Cooking on Hot’, and ‘Somebody Told Me’. She is said to have the style and grace reminiscent of the classic female blues singers, such as Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle and Aretha Franklin. Annette Friedrich will be the presenter for the occasion.
Those jazz enthusiasts who are about to do some newsletter printing for their local musical organizations or media platforms may wish to include this event in their next mass Mailing.
