Liverpool to get running next month

Liverpool has two running charity events scheduled for February.

Cupid’s Chase 5k, will have a local event here in Liverpool in mid-February, and the Lake Effect Marathon will take place on the same day.

The former is a national fundraising race to benefit Community Options, an organization aiding people with developmental disabilities, is now opening registration.

Registration will be $35. Participating groups or individuals will raise funds and donors can make $25, $50, $100, and $500 contributions on the event’s website. The goal for this local run is $15,000.

Cupid’s Chase 5K will begin at 10:00 am at Onondaga Lake Park, 106 Lake Drive.

For those wishing a longer run or to participate in virtual running options, another running event will be taking place February 12. This will be the 11th annual Lake Effect Half Marathon.

Other running options for this event will be the Live Quarter Marathon, The Virtual Half Marathon, and Virtual Quarter Marathon.

Registration is $95 for the Marathon, $50 for the Live Quarter Marathon, and $50 for the virtual runs. February 7 registration will go up $5 for each of the live races.

Swag will include long-sleeved tech shirts sporting the white and green Lake Effect graphic design, racing bibs and finisher medals.

The Lake Effect Marathon begins at 9:30 am in Lewis Park, Minoa. This event will benefit Make-a-Wish Central New York charity.
