Runners here in Liverpool looking to support a good cause may be heading to the Remembrance Run/Walk for Hope taking place in early August.
This year, the race will be timed, and results will be posted on the event's website. A memory board will be set up for those wishing to post pictures of their loved ones.
Early in-person and virtual adult registration for the 5k is $35 until July 4, $40 from then to August 2, and $45 on race day. The Superhero Kids Fun run for kids 12 and under, beginning at 10:15 am, will be free. All registration will be online. Race participants may run as individuals, join one of the team listed on the website or create teams of their own.
Those wishing to receive light blue T-Shirts sporting the event's white butterfly graphic design must register before July 21. Race packets will be available from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on July 31 at 4500 Onondaga Boulevard.
Nine sponsorships range from shirt and sign at the $100 level; entertainment, kid zone and silver at the $500 level; gold at $750; to the platinum and bib at $1,000 and the Diamond sponsor at the $2,000 level. All proceeds will go to families coping with the loss of loved ones.
The 14th annual Remembrance Run will take place Saturday, August 3, from 9:00 am to noon at Long Branch Park, 3813 Long Branch Road.
