The New York State Rhythm & Blues Festival, Inc. will be featuring regional and national blues artists in its 25th annual two-day event. The festival’s mission is to promote, protect and preserve blues culture and music.
A Pre-party, a couple of days before the big event, will start things off. It will showcase Walter Trout and his special guest will be Nick Schnebelen.
The first evening of the festival will be a Blues Night on the Town. Multiple venues will have free, live blues entertainment. Some of these venues will be Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Empire Brewing Co., Otro Cinco, Shaughnessy’s and Shifty’s.
The following day festivities will feature 19 bands and blues artists. Some performances on the main Stage will be the Noah Wotherspoon Band, the Norman Jackson Band and the Nighthawks with Bob Margolin. Tim Herron, and Dave Liddy & Steve Quenneville will be on the side stage.
The final day will have a bottle neck slide guitar workshop at noon put on by Gordon Munding. Other performers on the side stage will be Stiv Morgan and Chris Merkley. The evening performances on the main stage will be by Amy Helm and JJ Grey & Mofro.
All of us blues enthusiasts here in Liverpool will want to mark our Calendars for July 7th and 8th. The event will start at 3:00 pm Friday and end at 11:00 pm Saturday on Clinton Square, 161 West Genesee Street, Syracuse.
