Many here in Liverpool will be attending the 2024 Great New York State Fair coming in the latter part of August.
The 13-day event will offer competitions from agriculture farm products, livestock, horse shows, Future Farmers of America Education exhibits to antique tractors, an art and home center, dairy products, poultry, and a flower show. The Six Nations Agricultural Society will be hosting the Iroquois Indian Village.
On August 21, a Talent Showcase will feature the top five winners in each of the previous County Fair Maxi and Mini Talent Shows.
Daily parades will begin at the Exposition Center on special days, including Pride Day; Law Enforcement; Fire, Rescue and EMT; Armed Forces; and Labor Days.
Wade Shows will usher in the midway with hours from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm, except for Labor Day when closing time will be 9:00 pm.
Chevy Court will be featuring at least two concerts daily. Some of these will be Chubby Checker, Sister Sledge, Blue Oyster Cult, Crystal Gayle, and Journey from the Heart.
Fair admission will be $8 for adults, while children under 13 and senior citizens will get in for free. Parking will be $12. State Fair attendees often show up wearing T-Shirts featuring the fair's graphic design.
The 2024 Great New York State Fair will be from Wednesday, August 21 until Monday, September 2 at the N Fairgrounds 581 State Fair Road, Syracuse. Buildings will be open to fair attendees from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm daily.
