The Great New York State Fair, coming for 13 days at the end of August, will be a celebration of food, exhibits, and concerts.
Competitions will include the 35th Annual NYS Fair Rooster Crowing Contest Jamboree and Empire Swine Youth Scholarships. Exhibitions in agricultural farm products and livestock, antique tractors, art and home, and horse and dog shows will be available.
Concerts on the Chevy Park stage will include Chevelle, TLC, Foreigner, City Girls, Riley Green, and Boys II Men. Those at Chevy Court will include 38 Special, Jimmie Allen, Herman’s Hermits, ERNEST, Alex Miller and Night, and Big and Rich.
Other entertainment such musical acts, strolling street performers, and specialty acts (including sports, sand sculpture, and fireworks) will be featured around the venue.
Concessions and over 50 rides will be provided by Wade Shows and will be in operation on weekdays from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, weekends from 10:00 am to midnight, and Labor Day from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm.
Families with small children occasionally wear colorful T-Shirts featuring the family Logo Design or graphic design.
Fair admission will be $3 for adults and free to children under 12 and seniors. Admission and parking will be $8. Tickets must be pre-purchased online.
The fair will run from August 24 through September 5, at the New York State Fairgrounds 581 State Fair Blvd., Syracuse.
