Liverpool goes out on the town

To kick the summer festival season, Summit Federal Credit Union is hosting its annual free Taste of Syracuse in early June. This will be an “eat your heart out” event, and over 225,000 people are expected to attend.

Over 75 restaurants and food vendors will be on site to dish out everything from bacon bombs, BBQ, soul food, Greek food, tacos, spuds and spaghetti to ice cream, desserts, juicy freeze, almonds and Italian ice. Heid’s of Liverpool’s famous hot dogs will be there.

Government agencies such as the US Army, New York National Guard, and other organizations and businesses such as the Humane Association, T-Mobile, the Lasik Vision Institute and Just Energy will be onsite to distribute Business Cards and give out information on their goods and services.

Live entertainment consisting of 33 acts will be on three stages. Some groups will be SAMMY’s People’s Choice Award Winner Infinity, Hard Promises, Sophistafunk, Skunk City, Soul Risin’, and Smash Mouth. Saturday the main event in the afternoon will be Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest.

For the younger guests, they can enjoy their own activities such as the bounce houses and face painting.

The Taste of Syracuse will be at Clinton Square, 99 S Salina Street in Downtown Syracuse, on Friday, June 1 and 2 from 11:00 am until 11:00 pm.
