The Park Society Annual Conference Committee and New York State Recreation are teaming up to host the Halloween Irish Road Bowling Tournament, which will be coming a couple of days before Halloween.
Local businesses, organizations, friends, and neighbors are creating teams of four, packing coolers and donning their favorite Halloween costumes for the event. Team members must be 21 or over in order to participate. Each team member will receive a commemorative T-shirt. Local food trucks will be located at the end of the course.
Irish Road Bowling is a contest where participants roll a small iron and steel cannonball along a roadway course to the finish line. The team with the fewest shots wins. One member of the team is the road shower and has the job of advising the player. Another player goes a little way along the course and stands with his feet apart to show the player the best path. The thrower must end his underhand toss before stepping on the mark set by the previous toss. The top three scoring teams will get prizes, and a prize will go to the team sporting the best costumes.
Spectators will surely be bringing Banners to cheer on their favorite teams.
The Halloween Irish Road Bowling Tournament is slated for Saturday, October 28 at Long Branch Park, 3813 Long Branch Road, Liverpool. The race will start at 10:00 am, and things should be winding down by 5:00 pm.Get a Free Quote for Banners
