The Third Salt City BBQ Festival will be coming in a few days. Over 25 teams composed of BBQ restaurant professionals, vendors, local businesses, and back yard grilling enthusiasts will be competing for cash and prizes.
The festival will be raising funds for Phoenix Philosophies – a nonprofit organization that finds homes for homeless veterans in our area.
The teams will be competing for the $800 Grand Champion prize and trophy. Other prizes will include $350 for Reserve Grand Champion, $225 for third place, $150 for fourth, and $75 for fifth. There will be judging for four categories of BBQ – each division will have winners for the top five places who will receive money and trophies.
Liverpool guests may purchase many styles of the BBQ sauces made by the U.S. and Canadian teams in the competition. This year, the BBQ lovers of the area will also be able to buy some of the fare that has been made in the competition. There will be food available from restaurants and vendors, along with other BBQ-related fare and items from exhibitors and vendors. Local businesses will be handing out Flyers, Promotional Products, and samples. Music will be provided by eight local artists and bands.
The Salt City BBQ Festival will this Saturday, May 20 from 11:00 am until 11:00 pm at the New York State Fairgrounds, 581 State Fair Blvd, Syracuse.
