The Sierra Club, Solarize CNY, AGREE (Alliance for a Green Economy) New Yorkers for Clean Power and four other environmentally concerned organizations are cosponsoring the Electric Vehicle and Solar Expo - Drive and Shine in September.
The purpose of the event will be to promote home solar power and usage of electric vehicles in our area. The event will feature over 14 electric vehicles such as Tesla Mode S, Misubishi i-MiEV, Cadillac DLR, Ford Fusion, and Chevy Volt. Those of us here in Liverpool and other guests can either test drive the vehicles themselves or ride with one of the car companies’ representatives or car owners.
Also on site will be solar panel installers and other renewable energy companies. They will be passing out information Flyers and Brochures and chatting with attendees about how to convert homes and businesses in our area to solar energy.
Non-profit organizations will likewise be handing out information about their “green” missions and services. Kids will have their own activity area, and live bands will be performing on the stage. Food trucks will be vending refreshments.
The Drive and Shine, Electric Vehicle and Solar Expo will be Sunday, September 10 from 12:00 noon until 5:00 pm at 255 South Clinton Street, Syracuse. It will be behind the Chase Building in the parking lot of the City of Syracuse Building, which is on the corner of S. Clinton and W. Washington streets.
