Liverpool history buffs that enjoy biking are being invited to Tuesdays on the Towpath Interpreted Bike Ride coming in a few days.
Some of the Erie Canal Museum staff will be biking along the Erie Canal route as it was back in the 19th Century. The tour will be free and everyone is invited to bring their bikes and helmets and join in.
Cyclists will be exploring local contemporary and historic canal systems such as Onondaga Lake, the Inner Harbor, and the Onondaga Creekwalk.
Guests who take tours like this usually bring along picture-taking devices to get some good shots. These photos can be taken to Stationery printers to be made into stunning Letterheads.
Cyclists will meet the staff at the Erie Canal Museum, located at 318 Erie Boulevard East in Syracuse next Tuesday, July 16, at 6:00 pm. The tour will end at 8:00 pm.
The tour is a precursor to the Water/Ways traveling exhibit being brought to Syracuse by the Smithsonian Institution’s Museum on Main Street.
Water/Ways takes a look at the water cycle, how water affects the local panorama, migration, and settlement, and its impact on spirituality and culture. It explores how water resources and access to water affects economic and political planning, while also taking a look at respecting the natural environment and protecting water resources.
The exhibit will be at the Erie Canal Museum from through August 11, having started at the end of June.
