The 27th Annual New York State Rhythm & Blues Festival is on tap for the end of June.
The Pre-Fest Party will kick off the festival on June 26th at the Persian Terrace at Syracuse Marriott Downtown. Victor Wainwright, producer, piano player, composer, vocalist and award-winning performer, will headline the evening’s entertainment. Special guest for the evening will be Hayden Fogle on guitar. The event will open at 6:30 pm with the performance starting at 7:00 pm.
The festival proper will start the next day June 27th and go until the 29th. Headliners for the festival’s first evening will be the Dumpstaphunk from New Orleans; guitarist Tommy Castro & the Painkillers from San Jose will headline on the 28th, and New York City’s own Little Steven & The Disciples of Soul on the 29th.
Other performers on Thursday will include Brownskin Band and Bad Mama’s Blues Band. Bands playing before Tommy Castro & the Painkillers on Friday will be Lil’ Ed & the Blues Imperials, Miss E, Dawn Tyler Watson, Joe Beard. Lurrie Bell, Max & John Driscal, The Carolyn Kelly Blues Band, Jess Novak, Nate Gross and Blues Ignition will perform on Saturday.
Kerry MacHugh has done the blue, black, orange and yellow graphic design and art work for this year’s event poster.
As in the past, admission will be free and the event will be held in Downtown Clinton Square, 2 /south Clinton Street, Syracuse.
