All of us are Irish in March. The Liverpool area is no exception as we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
After the Wilkes-Barre parade, the most prominent event will be Syracuse’s 37th St. Patrick’s Parade. The 2019 theme will be “Syracuse. Irish. Family”. Over 130 entries will be grouped into six divisions – Connacht, Brand Marshal, Project Children, Leinster and Munster. Units will include pipe bands, local and state officials, high school bands, local parishes, family floats, dance schools, infantries and fire departments. St. Patrick himself will march immediately behind the Fort Drum unit that begins the parade.
Pictures taken at events such as this usually go into the city’s visitor’s guide when brochure printing.
Co-Grand Marshals for this year’s parade will be Bernard Mahoney and his daughter Joanie. Casey Vanderstouw will be Gael of the Year.
During the parade the SKY Armory will keep the celebration going with a St. Pat’s Party. The theme will be “Eat, Drink and Be Irish”. Guests can watch the parade from inside the warm ballrooms, eat traditional Irish food and enjoy Irish dancers.
A Parade Ends Here party will be at the Mariott Syracuse Downtown, 100 East Onodaga Street from 11:00 am until 8:30 pm. A light buffet will be served. There will be Step dancers and Celtic bands.
The Syracuse 2019 St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be March 16th.
Sky Armory’s Parade Party will be March 16th from 9:30 am until 4:00 pm at 351 South Clinton Street, Syracuse.
