Eco event just over a week away

The Stage of Nations Blue Rain Eco Fest 2016, part of Syracuse’s Artsweek Festival of Festivals, will be coming at the end of this month.

This event will combine a celebration of the culture of the Haudenosaunce with eco-friendly organizations, businesses, and vendors that will be offering information and eco-friendly goods and services.

Native American food, dancing, live music, exhibitions, and demonstrations will be provided by the Haudenosaunee Singers & Dancers.

After Tadadaho Sid Hill opens with the Haudenosaunee Welcome Ceremony, there will be a Haudenosaunee Social Dance Exhibition. The evening will end with a concert by Johnny Ray and the Stone Throwers.

The second evening will have another Haudenosaunee Social Dance Exhibition. Kay and the Miracle Cure will follow, before a third Haudenosaunee Social Dance Exhibition takes the stage, and Morris &the Hepcats will perform afterwards. The early evening program will be a Smoke Dance and Haudenosaunee Dance Competition. To end the evening, the Ripcords will perform.

Any enterprising photographers from Liverpool may want to bring a camera to take pictures that would make good subjects for later poster or brochure printing for city visitors.

The fest will be held on July 29 and 30 at Hanover Square, 100 E. Water Street in Syracuse. It will start at 5:00 pm on Friday and end Saturday at 10:00 pm.
