Many Liverpool blues aficionados will be heading to the 2022 New York State Blues Festival coming to Chevy Court at the New York Fairgrounds in mid-June. The 30-year-old festival has been organized to protect, promote, and preserve blues culture and music.
The three-day event, one of the Northeast’s major free blues events, will showcase both national and regional artists singing from various blues genres.
Thursday on the Main Stage, the performers will be Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience, and GA-20. Friday will feature The Kingsnakes, the Carolyn Kelly Blues Band, and Ron Spencer Band, while Saturday’s line-up includes JJ Grey & Mofro, Jocelyn & Chris, Vanessa Collier, and the Clarence Spady Band. Blues Ignition, a band composed of local students, will perform Saturday at 1:00 pm.
The Side Stage will feature Mike Burns & Mark Yonnick on Friday night, Nat Gross on Saturday night, and Unity Street Band and Jimmy Wolf on Saturday afternoon.
The venue will offer food from vendors, beer, and wine, while retail and craft vendors will be available in the market area.
Attendees often check to see if the event has any merchandise for sale featuring a cool graphic design such as the cat carrying a guitar case that represents this event.
The New York State Blues Festival will take place Thursday, June 16, 17, and 18 at Chevy Court at the New York State Fairgrounds, 581 State Fair Boulevard.
