April sees several Liverpool running events scheduled

Fitness enthusiasts and runners will be getting into shape for spring runs. Running events are being planned for Liverpool and surrounding areas for April, although the COVID-19 situation may yet put paid to them.

The Trial Run/Walk 5k will be on Saturday, April 11 from 9:00 am until noon starting at the Onondaga Lake Park’s Bayview Shelter. Registration will be $20. The run is for mental health awareness.

The 12th Annual Six-Legged 5K and Walk will take place beginning under the Saw Mill Creek Pavilion at Onondaga Lake Park Sunday, April 19, starting at 9:30 pm. Tech shirts with the event’s graphic design will be available with $25 registration until April 1. Participants may also register on race day for $25, without the shirts. Dog bandanas can be purchased for $5. The course will be an untimed out and back on the East Shore Trail.

Finally, StepUp4Kids will hold its annual 5K and Kids’ Fun Run on Sunday April 26. Registration for the 5K will be $30 and runners will leave the start line at 10:00 am. The half-mile Fun Run will cost $15 and begin at 9:30 am. After the Fun Run, there will be an area for kids to play games, eat snacks, listen to music and take part in activities. The event will be held at Inner Harbor, 360 W. Kirkpatrick Street, Syracuse. Proceeds will go to McMahon/Ryan Child Advocacy Center.
