West Hempstead chamber to host street fair
West Hempstead’s Chamber of Commerce will hold its Annual Fall Street Fair next month. The event will take place on Sunday, and locals from nearby areas like Hewlett can also attend.
This year’s fair will mark the 19th year since the event started running. Like in previous years, organizers will prepare a large “Craft Mall,” where vendors will set up booths to sell their merchandise. Guests can expect a host of art-related products, much of it handmade by local artists and artisans. Events like these often employ banner printing to help guide guests to vendors they are interested in.
Anyone looking to become a vendor can contact event organizers at 516-644-5615 or download a vendor app. More details can be found online on the fair’s official website.
The event is also geared specifically towards children. The fair will feature different rides and attractions, including a mechanical bull, a climbable rock wall, a “choo-choo” express, and more. The first 500 children ages 12 and under will also receive free ice cream.
The street fair will take place on October 24 between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM. It will run from Hempstead Avenue to Johnson Lane, right by Hall’s Pond. If the weather is not suitable, the fair will change its date to November 7. Entry to the event is free.
