United Choral Society to perform at Hewlett library
The community is invited to listen to a performance by the United Choral Society at the Hewlett-Woodmere Library.
The United Choral Society is a group of 155 experienced singers who volunteer to participate in professional performances. The organization was founded in 1999 and is often supported by talented freelance orchestral players from New York. The group performs at several notable events throughout the year, such as their show at Alice Tully Hall. Organizations that hold performances like this can use print shops for advertising their concerts to the community.
The United Choral Society will be performing for the public while being led by its music director John Maclay. Maclay was initially assistant conductor of the Harvard Glee Club during his time in graduate school and has worked with choruses at colleges like Haverford and Byrn Mawr. He currently works as Membership Chair for the New York Choral Consortium as well as General Counsel for Crédit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank in the Americas.
Anyone interested in attending the United Choral Society’s show can join the Hewlett-Woodmere Library on Sunday, June 7th at the on-site Gold Hall. The society's performance will begin at 2:00 pm and will conclude at 4:00 pm. People who wish to join the chorus can submit auditions to the organization via email to be considered for future seasons.
