Library in Hewlett to feature talented guitarist

The Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library will be visited by guitarist and composer Liz Hogg this month.

Hogg is a successful musician who has toured 11 countries and won multiple awards for her performances, such as the Maurice Kagan Memorial Scholarship Award for Excellence in an Orchestral Instrument. She has played at iconic venues like Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and the festival New Sounds Live. Hogg has even recorded eight albums and released four singles, in addition to having a music video on MTV for her single Drifters.

Hogg can also play instruments other than the guitar, including the lute, sitar, and the tiple. She has a Bachelor of Music in guitar performance in honors and earned a Master of Music in guitar performance from Mannes School of Music. Hogg is currently part of the guitar and theory faculty of schools around New York City.

The performance is at the Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library on Sunday, May 19 at 2:30 pm. Anybody interested in supporting Hogg by purchasing her music can visit her webpage on Bandcamp. People can buy her CDs and vinyl records made with custom graphic design. CDs cost $10, while her records can be purchased for $25. Hogg’s albums are also available to download for $10.
