What's Happening in Hewlett, NY…

Hewlett session to cover coin collecting

Collecting coins and paper currency is a popular hobby, and numismatists from Hewlett and the surrounding area may want to make sure they attend an upcoming presentation.

The Hewlett -Woodmere Public Library will be welcoming Specialty Rarities’ Jeff Berkoff, who will be sharing his expertise in the field of rare coins, as well as paper and other forms of currency. It will include both American and overseas examples, and it will run for one and a half hours.

The presentation will explore the process of collecting coins, including which ones tend to be especially worth collecting. Ones made from various metals will be on the agenda, and there will also be tips provided for storing coins to keep them safe and preserved for the future. Handling them without causing damage will also be reviewed, and everyone will be encouraged to ask questions.

An activity that will be focused on a specific and niche topic may attract a lot of interest, and an audience who are particularly dedicated to their field of study. Copies of any learning material to be distributed on the day can be prepared by print shops.

This activity planned with area amateur numismatists in mind will begin at 7:00 am on Monday, April 8. The organizers can be reached at (516) 374-1967 for any questions about the event.
