Hewlett library to hold book presentation
Daniel Heller’s book, Plato’s Visual Utopia, will be the topic of discussion at the Hewlett-Woodmere Library in New York later this month.
The Hewlett-Woodmere Library will be hosting an educational presentation about Heller’s illustrated art book Plato’s Visual Utopia. There are over 40 illustrations shown in the book that detail and analyze Plato’s Republic while teaching readers about the duality between the concepts of dystopia and utopia. Heller is an architect, artist, and author who lives in New York and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from Florence. He has more than 40 years’ worth of experience in architecture and has designed healing environments throughout the United States. Heller has also created works of art in multiple media, such as photography and digital art. His portfolio featuring numerous original pieces can be viewed online.
The book presentation will be held on Wednesday, July 31, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The lecture will be free for the public to attend, and no registration is required in advance. Those who would like to purchase a personal copy of Plato’s Visual Utopia can buy the book for $75 from Heller’s website.
