Hewlett kids to get baking at upcoming cookie class
Once the holiday season is over, Hewlett families may be on the hunt for some winter time fun, and an area venue is pleased to help.
Speakitaly NYV Brooklyn supplies the community with opportunities to learn and have fun, and one of its cookery workshops will be crafting cookies this January. Kids who take part will learn the basic recipe so they can prepare it at home with a parent or guardian, making any additions they wish.
The recipe junior bakers will learn will be Biscotti della Befana, which is more commonly known as shortbread. It will be a hands-on class, with the kids mixing, measuring, rolling, and shaping their cookies. Kitchen safety will be stressed.
This will be a drop-off activity, with parent participation not required or permitted. Tickets for the afternoon are $49.66 each.
Basic cooking and baking can be valuable life skills for a young person to have. Offering the youngsters in a culinary class a basic recipe book will encourage them to continue on learning and experimenting in their own kitchen, along with mom, dad or someone else special to them. These may be sourced from a printing services company.
This sweet start to 2023 will begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 7. The venue is located at 110 York Street #Floor 5 in Brooklyn.
