Hewlett food chain serves up a new president
Robert A. Sigel was recently appointed president of Associated Food Stores, LLC, founded in 1954 and based in Hewlett.
Associated Food Stores is a group of supermarkets that are independently-operated and based in the metropolitan area of New York. The company provides services in New Jersey, Connecticut and New York City to a network of over 200 retail grocery stores. Sigel will be responsible for the overall management of the business and will report to the Board of Directors.
The chairman of Associated Food Stores, Andy Unaue, commented that the company is happy to have someone who has the experience and caliber that Sigel brings. He has spent many years leading family-owned, equity-backed, and publicly held businesses in the supermarket industry, and will play an important role as the company continues its growth in the tri-state area of New York.
Sigel added that Associated has dedicated much of its business to providing value-added services so that independent supermarkets can grow their businesses. He is looking forward to working with the company’s network of suppliers, store owners, and associates in the hope that the company’s services and number of locations in the metropolitan area of New York can expand.
The company is most likely turning to various printing services to let all parties associated with the business learn of the appointment and its benefits for them.
