What's Happening in Hewlett, NY…

Hewlett bowlers to help homeless felines

International Homeless Animals Day draws attention to the plight of pets that have no one to love them, and a Hewlett area activity will shine a light on the occasion.

The Gutter, which is located at 200 North 14th Street in Brooklyn, will get the fun rolling with a fundraiser in the form of a bowling tournament planned by Greenpoint Cats. The organizers have explained this event is very important to homeless cats, as there have been so many in need that the Animal Care Centers of NYC is filled to capacity.

The Spare the Alley Cats Bowling Tournament will be a fun competition, and everyone is encouraged to take part. All of the monies will be donated to the cause, and the entry fee is $50. There will be prizes presented, and there is enough space for up to 50 bowlers.

The team at Greenpoint Cats will also have an information table set up, and there, the attendees and the general public can pick up some informational literature and make a further donation. A brochure printing company can craft items that provide additional details about a group or business for events similar to this one.

The Spare the Alley Cats Bowling Tournament will be taking place on August 19th. The activity will kick off at 12:00 pm, and tickets are available on Eventbrite.
