Hewlett artist to give virtual lectures

The Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library will have Thomas Germano as a guest as part of its new visual lecture series.

Those interested in learning about the lives of famous artists can attend a Zoom call led by Thomas Germano. He will participate in two discussions as part of the library’s series, with the first being about the prolific renaissance artist Raphael. His second lecture will cover Jasper Johns, an American painter and printmaker who is known for his work in abstract impressionism and pop art. Presentations like this can be advertised by using printing services to mail event details to locals.

Germano is an artist and professor at Farmingdale State College who teaches painting and drawing classes. He also has given multiple lectures throughout New York, covering topics like Celtic manuscript painting and Leonardo DaVinci. His works have been featured in notable events like the Dumbo Arts Festival and the Invitational Exhibition at the Heike Pickett Gallery in Kentucky. He also teaches an annual class in Europe about renaissance art history.

The Zoom lecture on Raphael will be held on Tuesday, July 7 at 1:00 pm, while the discussion on Jasper Johns will take place on Tuesday, August 18 at 1:00 pm. Links to the presentation will be available on the Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library’s website. Those who want to join other Zoom lectures can check the library’s newsletter for upcoming discussions.
