Hewlett area prom dress giveaway planned
An upcoming charitable event will provide prom dresses for junior and high school students in need.
The nonprofit organization, Women of Integrity Inc., are holding a prom dress giveaway for all area teens that need a dress for their prom or graduation. The dresses have all been donated by a variety of community members and are all free-of-charge, but are available only on a first-come, first-serve basis. This one-day event is open to Hewlett area teens currently in junior high school or high school and will help everyone to have the perfect prom photos.
Women of Integrity Inc. is dedicated to empowering women and girls. The organization offers mentoring programs and educational opportunities to help the participants gain confidence and succeed in their school efforts and careers.
The dress giveaway is a free event, but all participants must preregister. All girls must be accompanied by an adult, but only the girl receiving a dress is required to be registered. Registration tickets are nontransferable. The event will be videotaped and photographed for use on social media accounts, and there is no waiver to opt out of this media coverage.
The event is on April 21 at Kennedy Memorial Park in Hempstead from 12:30 to 3:30 pm. Parking fees are waived during the duration of the event. Register at the Eventbrite website and print the ticket to bring to the event, or those without access to printing services may email woipromdressdrive@gmail.com.
