As Hewlett gardeners prepare their outdoors beds for plants, they are invited to add an activity to their agenda that can help them achieve growing success.
The Long Beach Historical and Preservation Society is getting ready to roll out the welcome mat for its Seaside Gardening Tea Party. Tickets are $45 each, and to help everyone enter the spirit of the occasion, hats and festive clothing are encouraged.
The menu for the occasion includes an assortment of sweet and savory finger foods, as well as tea, and while they sip, guests will be taking in a presentation focused on local gardening. It will be led by Master Gardener Phyllis Ginsberg, who will explore the history of gardening in the area. This will be followed by remarks from Lynne Turner, who will discuss how using native plants can be beneficial. There are enough seats to accommodate up to 35 individuals.
With spring being when the gardening season begins in earnest, organizers of such events can order everything from promotional Pens to printed seed Envelopes from area Print shops.
The Long Beach Historical & Preservation Society will be serving up tea, treats, and garden- themed conversations on Sunday, April 6. It will begin at 1:00 pm, and anyone who has specific seating requests has been asked to call (516) 432-1192 after they have registered.
