Hewlett area class to teach first aid for pets
Just like people, pets can experience a medical emergency, and if their owners know what to do, they may be able to save their life.
A class that will be offered in the Hewlett area will provide an introduction to pet first aid and CPR techniques.
The attendees will learn how to perform some basic first aid for their cat or dog. How to stop bleeding, what to do if their pet is choking or ingested poison will all be discussed, and tips for dealing with insect bites will be reviewed as well. It may be of interest to both pet owners and those who work with companion animals, and techniques will be taught in an environment that’s both supportive and fun.
One of the goals of the activity is to do a good turn for pets in need. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the PetSafe Coalition. A brochure printing company can prepare items for a not-for-profit group that provide details about how contributions are used, and the impact they make.
This introduction to companion animals first aid and CPR is scheduled to take place on April 6. It will be offered at 3300 Beltagh Avenue in Wantagh.
Spots are expected to fill up quickly, so it is advisable to sign up early. The fee is $92.55.
