Hewlett area brings back bingo summer fundraiser
Last year, a Hewlett area fundraiser was held in support of Rescuing Families, and it proved to be such a hit that its organizers decided to hold it this year too.
This year will see the second annual Luau Bingo Party fundraiser held at VFW Post 2718, and all those 18 and up are welcome. While the players enjoy the games, they will be able to sit in air-conditioned comfort, and everyone is encouraged to get into the spirit of the occasion by wearing their favorite Hawaiian-style outfit.
Attendees will have the chance to bid on the prize baskets, which range in value from $50 all the way to $500. Five games of bingo will be played, and the jackpot will be $500. Drinks, a buffet-style dinner, and dessert will all be on offer, and additional bingo cards may be purchased for $3 each. An even split draw is also in the works.
When fundraising events take place, stationery printers can provide everything from bingo cards to T-shirts for the volunteers and staff, and they can also prepare corporate gifts to use as draw prizes.
This chance to enjoy a break for the summer heat while doing a good turn for area families will be held on the evening of Friday, August 9. The doors will open at 7:00 pm.
