Center to continue program for young children
The Center for Science Teaching & Learning will continue its Tiny Tots program in February. The workshop is open to all living in Rockville Center and surrounding areas like Hewlett and Valley Stream.
Tiny Tots aims to provide young children with a chance to engage with creative activities. Organizers hope that the participants can start to learn about shapes, numbers, colors, and letters through activities like arts and crafts. Such activities are often supported through stationery printers, so parents do not have to bring their own materials.
Parents with children between 18 months and three years old can join the workshop anytime during the month. Each week explores a new theme, which will be accompanied by entertaining and educational activities. A staff member from the center will lead parents and children through each workshop.
The workshop will be held outside, but it will be moved indoors if the weather does not permit outdoor activities. Regardless of the setting, COVID-19 precautions will be taken, meaning face covering is required for parents and everyone will follow social distancing. Organizers also ask that only one parent accompany their child.
The first class of next month will be on February 1, between 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM. The workshop will continue every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. No registration is necessary; participants can walk in by paying a $10 fee.
