Huge turnout anticipated for Flemington car show

The 2012 Flemington Speedway Historical Society's Drive-In Motor Madness Car Show is expected to be several times larger than the first annual event held last year.

Last year's car show saw hundreds of flea market vendors and show cars arrive to participate. Early registration for the 2012 event suggests that this year's car show, the second annual, will easily dwarf last year's.

The car show will feature displays of antique and modern race cars. Also on display will be trucks, tractors, motorcycles, and a number of other motor vehicles. People's choice award ballots will determine the winners of etched glass trophies and ribbon medals. The Flemington Speedway Historical Society will also award trophies and ribbons.

A Pinewood Derby Car Show will take place during the afternoon from noon to 2:00 pm. The cost to register for the Pinewood Derby is a canned good or a dry food item. Awards will be given to those who participate in the Derby. Although the awards are not specified, perhaps they will include certificates printed by a Flemington Stationery printing company.

The car show will feature fun for the entire family - even those who are not into cars. Live music and entertainment will take place throughout the day and a flea market will be set up featuring a range of vendors.

The event will take place from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on October 20 at South County Park on Route 179 South in Lambertville, NJ. The cost of admission is $5 per person or $10 per car. Those who wish to participate in the car show need to pay a $5 registration fee and the price is $25 to register as a vendor for the flea market.
