Rug hooking techniques can be used to craft items that combine form and function, and those who would like to pick up the basics of the pastime are welcome to register for a Flemington event.
The Hunterdon County Artisan’s Guild will be running a Beginner Rug Hooking Class at J.P. Case Middle School. It will be a full morning of learning presented in what the organizers hope will be an entertaining way.
The class will be facilitated by a certified instructor who is nationally known, and everyone will need to bring a sharp pair of scissors with them. Other materials – including a beginner frame, backing material, wool, and hook – will be provided. After the activity has drawn to a close, attendees may choose to remain on site to enjoy their snack or lunch. During the afternoon, they can meet Guild members and get in some more practice.
This workshop is part of the Guild’s larger Rug Camp, which runs for five days. Stationery printers can lend a helping hand when it comes to annual events by preparing everything from printed schedules, registration Forms, and tickets, to personalized Invitations for any VIP guests.
This opportunity for Residents of Hunterdon County to get their feet wet when it comes to rug hooking will be on offer on July 29. A registration form and other information can be found by visiting its web listing.
