Flemington technology buffs given day of their own

A call is going out to those in Flemington with a creative flair to take part in the first New Jersey Makers Day.

The Mediatech Foundation, which is a not-for-profit group that provides free digital technology access to members of the public, will be hosting the celebration. It will open its doors on later this month to anyone in the area who is engaged in inventing, programming, and creating. The group is also looking for volunteers to help with the event.

Mediatech is hoping people will come forward to demonstrate things they have made, lead projects, and teach others how to do what they do, or supervise groups of youth and adults.

Organizers are also looking for donations of items such as Lego, old computers and computer components, electronic devices, and cardboard. These will be used throughout the day by those who come out to take part in the many activities that are scheduled. A flyer printing firm can create schedules of the day’s activities to be distributed to those who register for the event.

With the day taking place on March 21, anyone interested in obtaining more information is invited to visit the Mediatech Foundation’s website, or they can also drop by in person. While there, they can learn more about their new iMac and 70-inch smart screen technology, as well as their current technological equipment. They are located at 118 Main Street Second Floor in Flemington.
