A store in Flemington recently played host to a group that rescues and rehomes unwanted greyhounds.
Pet Value, located in the Flemington Circle Shopping Center, was paid a visit by the New Jersey greyhound Adopting Program. The organization, which finds loving homes for dogs in need of one, talked to those who stopped by its display about why adopting one of these dogs can be an ideal choice for a family or individual who is looking for a new pet.
The representatives of the program brought ‘Pistol Mama’ along with them. She is a female greyhound that was seeking loving family to call her own. She was noted to have a sweet disposition and loved children and other animals, even cats. She was up to date with her shots, was spayed, and was also housebroken. It was hoped that getting to meet her in person would encourage the public to choose either her or another greyhound as their next pet.
The Hunterdon County-based organization has been able to rescue more than 2,500 greyhounds since it first came together in 1993. It has a variety of Brochures and other materials that give more information about why one of these pets can be an ideal choice. It has also created an interactive presentation that is available for groups in the community.
