Flemington families that are hoping to find some educational fun may enjoy participating in a series of activities that may help spark an interest in the natural world around them.
Hunterdon County Parks has prepared a schedule of four sessions that will visit several local locations, and each will have its own theme. The first is set for late October, and a small fee may be charged.
The first session will introduce bats, their ecology, and why they are so important. This will be followed by an instalment that offers views of trees at Echo Hill Park in their full autumn dress. This will follow a mile long route, and the participants will also be looking for wildflowers as they go. A guided visit of Hunterdon County Arboretum will make up the third outing, and the series will wrap up with a discussion of bobcats and how they have made a return to the area's wild spaces.
