As part of the revitalization of Flemington, the city has created a summer program packed with local music, dining, and events.
On alternate Wednesdays in July and August, Music on Main will be sponsored by the Borough of Flemington. Advertised with poster printing, the event allows residents and visitors to dine al fresco at some of Flemington’s finest restaurants, and enjoy a variety of bands yet to be announced. For those of legal age, beer and wine will be available. The event is free, and will take place on July 9 and 23, as well as on August 6 and 20.
On the opposing Thursdays, July 17 and 31 and August 14 and 28, the Business Improvement District, along with Flemington Rocks, will present Thursday Night Lights. Street performers, artists, and musicians will position themselves in front of open businesses to bring downtown alive with activity. Participating retailers will signal themselves with lights in their windows that come on after dusk. Performers will be on Main Street, and also in Turntable Junction and Stangl.
Salsa night will also return on July 19, when residents can enjoy Latin rhythms and dancing in the street to the sounds of the David Cedeno Orchestra.
Finally, car shows every other Saturday will feature bands and DJs on Main Street. During these events, the pop-up gallery and performance venue at 90 Main Street is open. They will also bring music to the third Thursday of each month at the Hunterdon Shopping Center.
