Flemington kids to enjoy fun of candy making

Three days of beach-themed fun are on the way for Flemington’s junior candy makers, and the campers will be preparing an assortment of tasty treats.

Candyland Crafts has plans in the works to host a day camp that will introduce kids to some of the techniques used when preparing candy and other confectionery. It will be a hands-on activity, and the campers will be able to try out the new skills they acquire while having fun with their new friends.

The first day, the kids will learn how to prepare chocolate for molding, and they will craft chocolate dipped pretzels, flamingo pops, and candy seashells. On day two, they will build on what they have learned by creating mini cupcake beaches using buttercream and crushed cookies. The final session will see the campers decorate their own beach cake, and all the materials needed are covered by the registration fee.

This three-day-long summer candy making workshop series will begin on Tuesday, July 27. The fun will take place at 44 Somerset Street in Raritan. Places can be booked via the event listing.
